How to use it

Open the template, then press Plan.
Select the house and use Measure to check its length and width.
Draw your own house with Face and the building tag. Choose the shed or gable roof.
Add a deck with the pavement tag and a garden with lawn and trees.
Press Build 3D and save a PNG.

Size facts

A tiny house is usually under 400 sq ft (37 m²).
On a trailer, a road-legal tiny house in the US is generally no wider than 8.5 ft (2.6 m) and no taller than 13.5 ft (4.1 m). Rules differ by place, so check yours.
A common length is 20 to 30 ft (6 to 9 m).

Wheels or foundation?

A tiny house on wheels is often treated like a vehicle or an RV, and many areas limit where it can be parked. A house on a foundation is usually treated like a small home and must follow building rules. Ask your local office before you buy land.

Layout tips

Face the long side with the most windows toward the best view or sun. Put the deck where it adds living space. Keep trees away from the roof. Leave room for a path and for utilities or a water tank.
