Add extra width if you want a workbench or shelves along a wall. A car door needs about 2.5 ft (0.8 m) of space beside the car to open.
Driveway basics
- A single driveway is usually about 10 ft (3 m) wide, and a double about 18 to 20 ft (5.5 to 6 m).
- Leave about 18 to 20 ft (5.5 to 6 m) between the garage door and the sidewalk, so a parked car does not block it.
- Keep the slope gentle so water runs away from the garage.
How to use the planner
- Open the template and press Plan.
- Select the garage and use Copy to add a second building, or draw a new one with the
buildingtag. - Choose the roof type (flat, pitched, hip, gable or shed) before you press Finish.
- Draw the driveway with Face and the
roadorpavementtag. - Press Build 3D and rotate the view. Save a PNG to share.
